Having received an architectural education in Petersburg, Sergey Choban has been successfully working in Germany from the beginning of the 1990s.
Since 1995, he has headed the Berlin office of the Nps Tchoban Voss bureau. Under his designs were realised such significant Berlin construction projects as the Cubix Cinema, Arndt Gallery, the DomAquare Complex, a synagogue on Munsterstrasse, and many other buildings and complexes both in Berlin and in other cities of Germany.
Since 2003, in parallel with work in Germany, S. Choban has been actively engaged in design work in Russia. Under his design, developed together with Peter Schweger, the highest building of Europe - the Federation Tower complex was erected at the Moscow-City. In 2010, Sergey Choban was chosen as the curator of the Russian pavilion at the 12th Architectural Biennial in Venice.
1962 - born in Leningrad (Saint-Petersburg), Russia.
1973 - studied at the Middle Art School of the Academy of Arts of the USSR.
1980-1986 - studied at the Architectural Faculty of the I.E. Repin Saint-Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
1986 - worked as a licensed architect in Russia.
1992 - worked in the Hamburg architectural bureau - Nps.
1995 – managing partner in the Nps Tchoban Voss architectural bureau, and headed its Berlin office.
2003 - opening of the architectural bureau Choban and Partners in Moscow.
2006 – managing partner of architectural association «SPEECH Choban & Kuznetsov».
