Radio Gigabit


Radio Gigabit develops a set of the technologies for implementation of point-to-point radios operating in the 71-76/81-86 GHz frequency band. The core innovation of Radio Gigabit is the steerable lens antenna technology that allows for implementation of high-gain (38+ dBi) antennas with electronic beam-steering. Support of electronic beam steering is very important for facilitation of initial link alignment and maintaining the link orientation under potential twists and sways of the mounting structures. No other similar technologies are available in the market now. Complimentary technologies developed by Radio Gigabit include E-band RF modules and digital FPGA modems. The entire sets of the technologies have been licensed to several telecom vendors worldwide and are in serial production since 2015.



The 71-76/81-86 GHz frequency band (E-band) has been made available almost worldwide for unlicensed or lightly licensed operation of point-to-point radios. That has opened unprecedent opportunities for creating multi-Gbps and even multi-10x-Gbps wireless links to the distance of up to 5-10 km. No other frequency band could support similar capacities wirelessly. As a result, such potential has led the E-band point-to-point radio market segment to grow faster than other market segments at the CAGR predicted to remain above 10% over the next 10 years. The E-band radio market share should increase 20% in 2025 and the number of links sold to surpass 250 thousand.
