Small Cell Backhaul
Small cell deployments will largely use wireless backhaul with significant fraction of LOS millimeter-wave links. Massive deployments (~1M links/year in 2017) of mm-wave backhaul links will require significantly lower cost than for existing macro cell-oriented solutions.
New requirements to self-organization and ease of deployment/maintenance. Steerable antennas are required to build self-deploying and self-organizing networks
New levels of system integration (millimeter-wave backhaul to become part of a small cell station).
