Dr. Alex Kosik is a serial entrepreneur working with numerous technology startup companies as an angel, international business adviser, mentor, EIR and executive with core focus on Life Sciences, Medical Devices, New Materials, Energy and IT.
Alex is a founding CEO of Quantum Cure, Inc., the Penn State company which developed a breakthrough technology for precise targeted chemo drugs delivery. Previously, Alex was a Founder and President of Gravitonus, Inc., creator of a revolutionary line of customized ergonomic workstations and assistive controllers for quadriplegics that he invented after meeting with paralyzed American actor Christopher Reeve. He presented to Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and Intel CEO Paul Otellini. Later Alex held a position of M&A Director in Gravitonus' spinoff - Ergotronica LLC.
Alex is a mentor for 1776, a global incubator and seed fund helping startups transform industries that impact millions of lives.
He also is a mentor for $2b Skolkovo Foundation. He screened over 500 companies that led to numerous grants and investments. Alex's expertise includes industry research, sourcing, evaluating, conducting due diligence, structuring, negotiating investments and monitoring them, as well as working closely with portfolio companies in developing and implementing corporate strategies. Alex is also on the Advisory Boards of a dozen of early stage companies and works with several venture funds.
Alex has over 10 years of executive experience in entrepreneurship, corporate strategy, business development and operations in USA, Asia, Europe and Russia. He was a Startup Ambassador for CRDF Global, a non-profit technology entrepreneurship initiative.
Alex is also a renowned lecturer teaching entrepreneurship to MBA and undergraduate students. He represents technology businesses at the G20 YES Summit and is a winner of numerous business competitions.
Alex has a MD degree with cum laude honors from MSUMD and Masters in orthopedic surgery.
Alex combines strong medical and technical expertise as well as diverse business background, including high-tech start-ups and major corporation management. His previous experience as serial entrepreneur includes consulting experience as a part time executive in seven seed/post seed stage IT and medical companies. Among others, in 2008 Alex was a business adviser for EasyTail LLC - US based medical startup, resulting in signing a deal with major VC fund for $4m.
