The Microanalysis Common Use Center (CUC) of the Skolkovo Technopark has carried out several measurements, which allowed analyzing structure of new surface of titanium dental implants on submicron level

The measurements were done by the Microanalysis CUC for R&D needs of the Skolkovo’s Biomed cluster resident Alfa Biotech. The project was carried out by a team of highly qualified specialists and with the help X-Ray computed tomography. As a result of measurements a reconstruction of titanium dental implants surface was done, as well as inhomogeneity of certain areas of the surface were measured. As Roman Ulanov, project manager of the R&D Services Development unit of the Skolkovo Technopark said, results of these measurements are very important for understanding structures of titanium surfaces. He laso said the acquired results are confidential so far. “We are talking about a significant discovery in the field of titanium surfaces,” Ulanov said.

Roman Ulanov also said that now the CUC of the Technopark carries out series of long-term researches, 50 hours and more each. "We see a sustainable growth dynamics in terms of number of orders, as well as widening of the spectrum of CUC services, rendered. These services require use of such expensive high resolution analytical equipment, as X-Ray tomographs.

Most demanded R&Ds in the Technoprak’s Microanalysis CUC

The most required, top priority researches of the Technopark are those in the field of biomedicine and material engineering. In microelectronics the CUC Microanalysis is currently planning to carry out a series of works in the interests of the Skolkovo Foundation residents, in the field of multilayer boards’ quality control and screening.

And by the order of several companies, Space cluster residents, the CUC carries out researches on analysis and indestructible control of space devices. Besides, as Roman Ulanov said, the CUC also conducts analytical studies in material engineering for the Energy Efficiency cluster residents. Particularly in the sphere of structural analysis of different surfaces, as well as microanalysis of pore volumes of different materials, extracted with a core drill.

The CUC  Microanalysis of the Skolkovo Technopark uses the following electronic microscopes: FEI Helios 650 Nanolab and Xradia VersaXRM-500.
