“Startup Village is a trend setter” – this is how winners of Insead Business Venture Competition Jason Png and Christoph Salentin from Optiс2Connect expressed their impression after participating in the main Russian startup event.

“SV was not only about money and investments but also about the spirit of entrepreneurship and encouragement”, said Christoph Salentin. “We are for the first time in Russia and were very impressed by how much innovations are supported here, how much attention mass media has given to the event and, of course, the visit of the Prime Minister.”

“It was very interesting. Everyone was open to dialogue. You could communicate with every participant”, confirmed his words Jason Png. “I liked it very much that at Startup Village for each topic there was something taking place continuously. You know, usually it’s one conference, one seminar and that’s it. The topic which is important for you is closed.  But SV was completely different! ”

Optic 2Connect is a young team, which is not even six months old yet. In December two students of the Insead Executive Programme decided to participate in a venture competition. One of the prizes was a Skolkovo grant which was divided between two winning teams – Optic 2Connect and InImito Technologies. The project Optic 2Connect offers  simulation software, which will allow  the development of silicon photonics equipment, the new generation of CMOS chips.
