The Skolkovo Foundation has named its first participants - residents of Russia’s innovation centre. The status of “Skolkovo Centre residents” has been granted to 16 companies whose projects won the foundation-held competition.

Some of the winner-projects are the “International Centre for Quantum Optics and Quantum Technologies”, the “Superconductor Industry”, and also a project to set up a research centre for thin-film energy technologies and to prepare medicines to cure viral diseases.

The Skolkovo Investment Committee is due to determine the amount of required funding for the projects shortly, says the Foundation President Victor Vekselberg. He specified that the funds would be allocated as grants.
