Triaxes Vision, an innovative company from Tomsk, in cooperation with Italian Sisvel Technology, are getting ready to make a presentation in Amsterdam, at IBC-2012 trade show, a new format of Universal 3D TV broadcast.
As NIA Tomsk news agency found out from the press service of the special economic zone “JSC TVT Tomsk”, a new TV broadcast format, which inventors called a “Universal 3DZ Format”, is a result of cooperation between the Russian and Italian companies. They also said that Triaxes Vision just turned the Skolkovo Foundation resident.
The Italian Sisvel Technology has previous experience of working in 3D Tile format, which allows transmitting stereoscopic (3D) images in a much higher resolution, compared to widely spread 3D TV Side-by-Side format. And one more advantage of the 3D Tile format is its compatibility with usual 2D TV sets.
The Triaxes Vision, which is engaged in development of the 3D without glasses technology, has added to the 3D Tile format additional data — so called “depth map (Z)”. The depth map feature is able to contain data, which is equal to information on such parameters, as brightness or color, but in fact, describes image voluminosity. This feature, which makes it possible to create a video in 3DZ Tile format, has been already used in a new software product called “Triaxes DepthGate”.
