DESIGN PLANS
The design hackathon begins on this day uniting start-ups, designers and manufacturers. Ten teams will take part in the three-day workshop with young designers and students of industrial design departments from leading Moscow universities and design schools participating (British Higher School of Art and Design, RUDN University, Moscow State University of Design and Technology, Moscow Polytechnic University, Polytechnic University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the National University of Science and Technology, Institute of Business and Design, and others). They will have to find optimal solutions for real product- and innovation-based work assignments received from Skolkovo IC’s leading start-ups. For young designers, the event offers invaluable working experience and networking opportunities, while for Skolkovo start-ups, a chance to find ideas to improve quality of their products.
This year the hackathon curator is Aleksey Yakimenko, Industrial Designer and Associate Professor at Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry.

DESIGN IN ACTION
The key event of the second day is Customer School, a platform for dialogue between leading industrial designers and start-ups. What is more important, product or packaging? What is the cost of design and why? Who formulates creativity and production assignments and how is this done? What shape does a plan for a deal to sell and implement creative solutions take?
These and many other questions will be answered by industry leaders such as Mikhail Vasiliev, CEO at Karfidov Lab, Alex Kutyaev, General Director at ART UP Studio, Timur Burbaev, Art Director and Industrial Designer at Art. Lebedev Studio and other participants.
In 2018, experts at the Customer School mainly come from the Common Use Centers of the Skolkovo Technopark whose competency lies in the field of engineering and industrial design. These professionals are skilled at improving product appearance and bringing it to the market while simultaneously increasing its value and making it more user-friendly.
