In the eve of the big event in the framework of the G20 taking place in Russia «Summit of the Alliance of young entrepreneurs of G20, which will be held in Skolkovo Moscow School of Management this week, the delegation of the Alliance of young entrepreneurs of the big twenty visited Skolkovo.


In Technopark «Skolkovo» young entrepreneurs held a meeting with senior members of the Foundation, its residents, and the representatives of the entrepreneurship community. Anna Nikina, who oversees the Technopark the development of international programs and partnerships, said in an interview to Sk.ru that today's meeting distinguished itself favorably as the participants had vivid business interest in cooperation with Skolkovo and its key institutions. The average age of the members of the delegation was about 30+ years, so that today among the guests were many successful business people. It is also important to note that among the delegation members were representatives of the key institutions of development of the countries-participants of the G20 summit of the Alliance.

Young entrepreneurs, said Anna Nikina, who moderated the meeting, already were well-aware of Skolkovo overall, but wanted to see the place with their own eyes and have an update about the project. Today, judging by an active and very specific, focused issues, and on the range of business interests presented at the meetings, the guests were looking for practical steps of cooperation, for example, with Technopark Skolkovo in terms of infrastructure, entrepreneurship society of the School, becoming a Skolkovo resident and having access to R&D facilities.

«Today was not just a tour around the Technopark or a protocol meeting with international guests, but a productive business dialogue», - said Anna Nikina.

The participants of the meeting listened to the presentation of a Skolkovo resident company “Optogard”, as well as the overall presentation about Skolkovo, which was presented by the international project coordinator Dmitry Politov. Ekaterina Gaika introduced some of the most interesting projects of the IT cluster, guests also met with the representatives of the entrepreneurship community of Skolkovo Moscow School of Management Maxim Karpov and Yuri Mitin, a well-known expert on innovative entrepreneurship. SkoltechUniversity was represented by Justin Varilek.

Marsha Josephs, GR Director of the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) shared her impressions after the meeting:

«The Canadian group is represented by two organizations, “Canadian Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs and our Foundation", she said. Our main goal, similar to Skolkovo, is to assist young entrepreneurs to start their business, develop economic entrepreneurial activity in the youth environment and ensure ultimately economic growth. In this regard, we are very interested in exchanging experiences with organizations that are implementing the similar tasks to what we do».

Hugo Lavasseur, Head of R&D in a Canadian company Deltasco Solutions Inc., noted that he expected, first of all, to see how Russia is trying to create the infrastructure of innovation and was very impressed with the results and with what he saw here. “I work in Montreal and we are sometimes called the «Northern Silicon Valley». So to me it was especially interesting to see how other governments are working on the creation of similar projects in their countries. I have here today a lot of new contacts, as I get home, I will begin to correspond with all people whom I met in Skolkovo”, said the Canadian entrepreneur.
