Specialists of “Rock Flow Dynamics” from the IT cluster have held their first corporate conference for users in Tyumen and announced a deal with the American oil giant Occidental Petroleum.


At the first corporate conference for the Tyumen audience Rock Flow Dynamics reported on advantages and ways of work with its leader product tNavigator – parallel interactive package for hydrodynamic modeling of oil and gas fields. Company representatives answered numerous questions from the audience consisting mainly of specialists from Tyumen gas and oil sector, with genuine interest for the product. The number of registered oil industry workers at the conference exceeded 150 persons.


Participating in the work of the conference was leading expert, dean of the Oil and Gas Center of the Imperial College London Alain Gringarten, who gave two lectures on well surveys with the help of innovative technologies.

At the conference the company announced signing a deal between Rock Flow Dynamics and one of the largest gas and oil corporations of the USA, Occidental Petroleum (OXY). The American oil and gas giant will be supplied with tNavigator software which will be used for super computer cluster calculations of field models in three branches of OXY in the USA and Middle East. Earlier Sk.ru reported about Rock Flow Dynamcis signing a deal on the sale of software license to a Japanese gas and oil corporation JOGMEC.

Nikolay Suyetin, director for science and research of the Skolkovo Foundation IT cluster commented on the success of the RFD team:
