When Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev declared at Startup Village that the Skolkovo Innovation Center is developing as planned, he was speaking as someone who’d had the benefit of several helicopter fly-bys to back up the assertion.

Now, the picture is clear to those of us who get about on foot (click image to expand).

Birds-eye photographs made available exclusively to sk.ru, taken exactly a year apart, show the startling progress made in the construction one of the world’s biggest innovation centers.

The lower panorama was taken in May 2014, the higher a year later, just days before Startup Village on June 2-3.

“This is really the most vivid proof that the project is growing with the appropriate speed,” said Skolkovo city manager Vladimir Lukyanov.

“We see the photo that was taken in May of this year – the big technopark is practically ready; building work at the living quarters is finishing,” he added.

“I have to be honest: You stare for a few minutes at these panoramas and you fill up with pride at what we’re doing at Skolkovo.”

The photos show the entire 400-hectare site of the Skolkovo Innovation Center, located next to a European Tour golf course, also named Skolkovo.
