An agreement on co-operation within the frames of participation of Russia in the European research and technical program EUREKA was signed by the Skolkovo Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation on the 13th of January in Moscow. For the Russian side, taking part in this program provides access to the largest European database of the expert data and ensures all-round assistance to the projects in the field of development of innovative products, technologies and services.
The document was signed by the vice-president for government and public relations of the Skolkovo Foundation Stanislav Naumov and the deputy minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation Georgy Kalamanov.
“EUREKA program had been created to increase competitiveness of economies and industries of the participating countries by supporting high-tech companies, research and development centers and universities. Entering the WTO makes especially actual the issue of integration of Russia into the European economic and innovation area. According to the statements of the roadmap for the common area in science and education including cultural aspects that was approved on May 10, 2005 in Moscow by the President of the Russian Federation and EU management at the Russian-EU summit, EUREKA program is viewed as one of the basic mechanisms for technological modernization, support and development of the international industrial co-operation, and we attach profound importance to our participation in the Program,” commented on the agreement Stanislav Naumov.
Co-opearion of the Skolkovo Foundation and Minpromtorg of Russia implies bringing Russian organizations into the projects of the Program, organizing joint scientific media events - meetings, conferences, seminars, exhibitions; expertise and information exchanges, including methodical and reference information exchanges for facilitating interactions with EUREKA program; as well as collaboration on the actual issues of participation of Russia in the Program.
