Skolkovo, 23 January 2012 - The Skolkovo Foundation is sending a delegation to the World Economic Forum in Davos from 25-29 January, headed by its President, Viktor Vekselberg. This is the first year that Skolkovo will participate in the Forum’s discussions and in multilateral and bilateral meetings.
On the eve of the Forum (24 January), a Skolkovo representative will take part in a CNBC Brainstorm programme on the topic of “Unleashing Energy Innovation.” They will explore how best to ensure a sustainable supply of electricity for the world’s population.
During the Forum, Mr Vekselberg will address a session focused on the future prospects of world science. He will also undertake a series of bilateral meetings with academics, business leaders, politicians and public figures from around the world including heads of companies that are Skolkovo partners such as Peter Löscher (Siemens) and John Chambers (Cisco).
Mr Vekselberg also plans to meet with Prince Philippe of Belgium and Susan Hockfield, president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a partner of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (SkTech). In addition, Mr Vekselberg will hold meetings with leaders of other major universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. Joining these meetings will be SkTech’s founding president, Edward Crawley. Mr. Crawley is also planning to speak to the Global Universities Leaders Forum (GULF) on 27 January in Davos.
