Seven startups from Skolkovo’s IT Cluster will participate in the InnovFest unBound conference, which will take place in Singapore on 17-18 May 2016.The tech show brings together top startups, leading businesses and investors to explore and create the new business opportunities in the Asian market.
Skolkovo started its active cooperation with the Singapore’s innovative ecosystem in 2015 by opening the Hardware 2.0 program together with the local accelerator HaxAsia (Enchanted.VC). The goal of the program was to develop the projects from prototype to ready-for-market and to bring them to the crowdfunding platforms IndieGoGo and Kickstarter.
The first echelon of seven Skolkovo’s startups successfully finished the acceleration program. After finalizing the prototypes, collection of pre-orders and placing their projects at crowdfunding platforms the companies raised their capitalization from less than $1 m up to $3-4 m.
As a result of the program, SVET, Glance and Cardberry opened their offices in Singapore. Cinemood already attracted $85k at IndieGoGo and campaign is not finished yet. VicoVR plans to launch its crowdfunding campaign on 18th of May. Glance and SVET have attracted between 50 and 100K each from Enchanted.VC as well as got their grant support from the Skolkovo Foundation.
Vasily Ryzhonkov, Head of Mobile Technologies Center, Skolkovo: “Singapore is a major world investment hub. The annual VC investments in Singapore exceeded $1 billion, which is 7x higher than at the Russian VC market. The biggest part of the investments was made into IT companies with focus on internet, mobile and fintech. I am certain that Russian entrepreneurs that develop globally competitive IT projects have a good chance to follow the example of the companies that graduated from Hardware 2.0 program - to settle in Singapore and raise local VC smart money.”
