The Imagine Cup is one of the largest international competitions for students in technical fields. Organized 11 years ago by Microsoft, it has already attracted more than 1.65 million registered members. Unlike many sports competitions, the Imagine Cup is focused on creating student teams working on real projects that are then able to turn into startups.
The international final of the Imagine Cup is held every year in a different country, like an Olympics of technology. In 2013, the finals will be held in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The competition includes various contests held both in Russia and internationally.
