The wireless communications startup Telum, a resident of Skolkovo’s IT cluster, is to exhibit its new mobile 4G reception station at the Open Innovations forum in Moscow next week.

The Ranberry B1000, a yellow-cased “network in a box,” as the company puts it, is primarily designed for mobile CCTV for first responders, public protection and disaster relief missions in rural and remote areas.

A fold-away antenna supports a broadband-speed connection that is good enough for video conferencing, the company says.

In late 2012 Telum was awarded a Skolkovo Foundation grant to develop advanced self-organized LTE small cell technology. In 2013 Telum received investment from Airbus Group Innovation Works.

Telum will be among 33 Skolkovo resident companies displaying their innovations at Open Innovations.

“We’re expecting significant interest from forum visitors and other participants,” Telum CEO Pavel Boiko told sk.ru.

“We are always open to new partnerships and projects,” he added.

The Ranberry B1000 is the latest offering from the Telum product line, which also includes regular mobile network stations designed for 4G/LTE connections in cities and the countryside.

The Open Innovations forum, organized in part by the Skolkovo Foundation, is one of the world’s premier tech conferences and this year is headlined by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Chinese premier Li Keqiang.

It runs Oct. 14-16 at the Technopolis in the Russian capital.
