Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev has designated a starting point for the construction of the Skolkovo high-tech hub near Moscow. It sets the whole system of coordinates for future laboratories, engineering centers, residential buildings and infrastructure.
Speaking during a session of the Modernization and Technological Development Commission on Tuesday, the president complained that he was not fully satisfied with the pace of modernization in the outgoing year.
“There were organizational and financial problems,” he said. The commission met once a month to discuss modernization in individual economic branches, legislative provision and the development of business.
As Mr. Medvedev put it: “We have been laying foundations for a new economy”.
