From now on any web user can create his own animated shorts with groundbreaking FilmLanguage technology, a co-project of "Night Watch" creator Timur Bekmambetov’s Bazelevs Studio and Russia’s Skolkovo research hub.

FilmLanguage will enable users to convert text directly into 3D animation, says one of the software’s designer and Bazelevs vice-president Sergey Kuzmin.

"Some have already attempted to design 3D animation software but no one worked with text. We had a privilege of working with Skolkovo where we interacted with ABBYY. Their experts have unique linguistic analysis tools which we used in FilmLanguage."

It took technicians two years to put the project on the table. It was funded by the Skolkovo Foundation where Bazelevs has received the resident company status.

This might be Skolkovo’s riskiest investment but it turned out to be in great demand as the new technology makes it possible to create new animation features in all possible genres. It could be handy in filmmaking, TV and shows of all kind.

Bekmambetov is already using the software creating a series of short cartoons called "Chromosapiens."

It will be a story of two alien robots flying to our planet to enslave it. Their knowledge about people comes from the Internet. The cartoons will be aired by the Paramount Comedy channel.

FilmLanguage will be available online from January 13 for all aspiring cartoon makers or animation designers.
