Global consultancy Accenture and Moscow-based non-profit organization the Skolkovo Foundation have partnered to establish a centre through which to develop and commercialize new predictive analytics technologies in Russia.

The Skolkovo Foundation was created in 2010 to help build the ‘Skolkovo Innovation Center’, which aspires to become Russia’s Silicon Valley, gathering the country’s senior technological minds into one place. The project includes a business centre, development district, science and technology institute and a management school, and Accenture will become part of this venture when it opens later this month.

During the first two years, the ‘Accenture Development Center at Skolkovo’ will focus on studying the possibilities of using mobile devices for data collection, developing algorithms for predictive analytics, and establishing a data processing centre for provision of predictive analytics services. Initially the centre will develop solutions for the oil, gas and other energy sectors.

Vartan Dilanyan (pictured), MD of Accenture in Russia, comments: ‘We began our cooperation with the Skolkovo Foundation taking into consideration its high international status as well as quality of technological clusters, university and other important infrastructure, which is all combined in this project. This is a favourable place for the development of predictive analytics which are designed to help our clients to use all data about their current business processes for effective decision-making that will lead to real business results.’
