Before the meeting of the Working Group of the Commission on the Modernization and Technological Development of the Russian Economy and the Board of Guardians at the Centre of New Technologies and Technological Entrepreneurship - DigitalOctober, the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev learned about the first successes of Skolkovo – the projects of the Innovation Centre’s participants. The President was also acquainted with the concept of urban development of the innovation centre, with the first transformer-building in the Innovation City and with the activities of the Open University of Skolkovo.
Members of the Innovation Centre told Dmitry Medvedev about their projects. General Director of the Ural Centre of Biopharmaceutical Technology, Alexander Petrov, talked about Triazavirin – a medicinal drug for the treatment of viral diseases. "This is a medication of a new generation, thanks to new compounds, it acts directly," said the developer.
The general director of the Innovation Development Centre CTM, Anton Zubihin, showed Dmitry Medvedev his project for the creation of energy-efficient diesel locomotives, with smart asynchronous drives.
The President also watched a cartoon about the adventures of Alisa Selezneva in Skolkovo. The remake of the famous film was made using the technology of interactive three-dimensional visualization of the text; its author is the Bazelevs Innovation Company. World-famous film directors Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov are already using this technology.
During the meeting, the President noted that the Skolkovo project is one of the biggest projects being implemented under the priorities of the Commission for Modernization. It is here that the run-in tests of the latest academic, research and educational methods, as well as new technologies will be held. "But we are not talking about creating some innovative paradise on a separate territory, of which from time to time we are accused of, saying that everything is done in Skolkovo, but in the whole country things remain like they used to be,” said Dmitry Medvedev. “We must say that are just trying to create the right example."
The President of the Skolkovo Foundation, Viktor Vekselberg, presented a report on the results of the activities of the Foundation for the year to the members of the Commission and the Board of Guardians.
