Moscow based "Rock Flow Dynamics", a member of the "Skolkovo" innovation centre, signed a contract with one of the largest independent oil and gas producers in the U.S. The deal was finalized on New Year's eve. "Rock Flow Dynamics" was founded in 2005 and gained "Skolkovo" residency status in July, 2011. "The decision to acquire licenses of tNavigator™ was made by our US colleagues after several months of testing. tNavigator™ features a range of advanced technologies for modeling complex physical and chemical processes taking place in underground reservoirs during the extraction of hydrocarbons. But it was the advanced acceleration of reservoir model simulations that became the wining factor for the decision to adopt RFD technologies. This sale confirms the market in North America is ready for the next generation of reservoir simulators that capitalize on new multi-core parallel processors", said Tom Robinson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In 2010 "Rock Flow Dynamics" received funding from the global technological fund Intel Capital, and in 2011 qualified for a 28.2 million rubles grant from the IT cluster of the "Skolkovo" foundation. The largest corporate clients of "Rock Flow Dynamics" in the Russian Federation are TNK-BP and Gazpromneft. In May of 2011, the "Rock Flow Dynamics" sales and marketing office was opened in Houston, Texas. Since then, there have been a number of presentations and successful software trials in major US and international oil and gas companies. The results of tests performed on real reservoir models of potential customers fully confirmed the novelty and technological advantages of tNavigator™.
