On April 29 the very first and already legendary “race” of the Russian Startup Tour through Russia came to an end in Kaliningrad. Ahead is Startup Village, the May mega-conference on the territory of Skolkovo Innovation Center.
All leading experts participated in the closing session which took place in the congress hall of the Kaliningrad hotel “Radisson-Kaliningrad”. Deputy Minister of Communications Mark Shmulevich addressed the innovators, experts and mentors with a welcoming word. Young startup people of Kaliningrad and Moscow guests were also welcomed by the Minister of Economy of Kaliningrad region Vadim Amstel.
By tradition the opening of this regional event of the Russian Startup Tour was brought by Pekka Viljakainen who, closer to the end of the tour, more and more often jokingly called himself the “Finnish horse” stressing that he held out such a large-scale event.
Kaliningradians listened to his passionate speech “Being an entrepreneur is hard but not dangerous”. Anton Voropayev, Yevgeniya Mayer, “RVK”, Sergey Blintsov of “Zvorykin Project”, Vera Koryakina, Denis Guseyev of “ASI” – a the team already known to many startup people, also gave a speech to Kaliningradians.
The main message in the Kaliningrad phase of the project was similar to the other cities, namely: promotion, education, funding.
