The Skolkovo Foundation and Schneider Electric company, signed an agreement to open an R&D at Skolkovo center in the presence of the Russian premier Dmitry Medvedev


Frederic Abbal, executive VP of Schneider Electric’s Energy Division, said, notably at the ceremony that the French company considers this deal as an important part of its strategy to build a research localization efforts in Russia.

“Russia is one of the most important regions for Schneider Electric. The company has already hired more than twelve thousand employees in Russia, who work in six factories and several logistic centers all across Russi”, said the Schneider Electric’s executive. At the end of his speech Abbal appealed to the Skolkovo community “to work together to make the world better”,Frederic Abbal, executive VP of Schneider Electric’s Energy Division

Activities of the Schneider Electric center at Skolkovo will be focused on development of advanced smart grid system for electricity networks, control systems for autonomous generators and pipelines for various purposes, adoption of innovative solutions to Russian standards. It is expected that by 2017 there will be about hundred researchers and engineers, working for the company’s R&D center at Skolkovo.

At Skolkovo the company will also take part at the Eco-Office state of the art building project. All the engineering systems of this building will be united into a single intellectual management system. Among other things it will be able to analyze energy consumption, optimizing it. These and other solutions will allow the Eco-Office to comply to European standards for the buildings with near-zero power consumption. The building will be certified by international green standard LEED.
