Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the cooperation between the Skolkovo Foundation and Brazil’s Tecnopuc innovations centre during official talks with his Brazilian counterpart, Michel Temer, at the Kremlin on Wednesday.

Putin noted that Russia and Brazil already cooperate closely in space exploration, and that there are plans to develop cooperation in earth monitoring from space.
“We see good prospects for supporting existing technology alliances and establishing new ones,” said Putin, according to a transcript published on the official Kremlin website.
“One such alliance has been formed by the Skolkovo Foundation and the Brazilian Tecnopuc innovative centre.”
The Skolkovo Technopark signed a memorandum of understanding at Skolkovo’s 2015 Startup Village with Brazil’s Tecnopuc: the Science and Technology Park of Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul. A Skolkovo Technopark delegation had visited Brazil earlier that year, and Brazilian delegations at a ministerial level have visited Skolkovo several times. Several Skolkovo companies have joint projects with Brazilian partners, including in the field of telecoms.
A memorandum of cooperation is expected to be signed between Skolkovo and Brazil’s Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications in the near future. The agreement foresees the carrying out of joint scientific research and the joint development and commercialisation of new technologies.
A number of bilateral documents were signed following this week's talks in Moscow, including memorandums of understanding on economic and investment cooperation, and on organising an information exchange on goods and vehicles moving between Russia and Brazil.
The two presidents also discussed strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and exchanged views on key regional and international issues.
“Russia and Brazil have many things in common,” the Kremlin website cited Temer as saying.
“Our countries both have vast territories and large populations, and our economies have many similarities as well,” the Brazilian leader said.
