The Russian premier Dmitry Medvedev during his working trip to St. Petersburg on September, 1 visited a laboratory of the “RRT” Ltd. Company. The company develops so called “PRIS” technologies of oil refining and currently works on developing components for the Euro-5 standard gasoline.

Earlier in October 2011 Dmitry Medvedev met this company, which forms part of the Skolkovo’s Energy Efficiency cluster. This time the Russian premier talked to the RRT’s R&D center director Oleg Parputs, who described Medvedev the progress of the project.

Particularly, they discussed issues of commercialization potential of the PRIS technology. Oleg Parputs told Dmitry Medvedev that there is an interest from the “IndianOil” company to implement this technology on its refineries. He also said that around September 27 the Indian refiners are to visit the RRT’s laboratory in St. Petersburg, to discuss terms of possible cooperation.

RRT is also in talks with "Rosneft" to apply the PRIS technology in Russia.

Despite various difficulties and problems, associated with the implementation of innovations and new standards by large Russian oil companies, these negotiations are also under way, and the Skolkovo’s innovation center Resident status helps a lotOleg Parputs said

RRT’s PRIS technology for gasoline components of the EURO-5 standard is based on the combination of catalytic systems and distillation in a single unit. Implementation of the technology will help, according to the company, to achieve up to fivefold operating costs cut as well as cuts in capital expenditures for gasoline components manufacturing by factor of 3.2.
