Today Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev visited Skolkovo Innovation Center and was very pleased by the innovative R&D and projects displayed there, informs Interfax.

   

During his visit the Prime Minister attended the hall where medical issues were discussed – such as the fight with Alzheimer’s disease, as well as problems of aging of the human organism. There is research going on to find the causes of aging on a cell level, the authors of the project told to Medvedev. Development of the project requires 150 million rubles.

The Prime Minister also paid attention to the design of a hydrogen engine for railway and tram vehicles which can start operating already in 2016.

“Earlier you mentioned 2030 though”, marked the head of the government. “I suppose that related to mass use.”

The Prime Minister was also shown equipment for trauma treatment of the spine that had already been used in five operations. This project is moving on to an international level.

Among the inventions viewed by Medvedev there was also a gadget for mineral resources exploration.

“Have you found anything?” asked the PM and received in reply: “Yes, we found three potential deposits.”

At the end of his visit, addressing the Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation Board of Trustees, Victor Vekselberg, the head of the government marked that he “liked everything, everything looked very good and attractive.”
