Mutual agreements were signed during the first day of Start-up Village-2019

The agreement between Skolkovo and Hyundai, signed by Viktor Vekselberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, and Son Köngsu, President of the regional headquarters of Hyundai Motor Russia & CIS, aims to develop and implement an application for remote
rent-a-car services, including long-term rental of Hyundai cars. Anyone, even if they are not the company’s customer, could choose to use this service. A subscription to the service will be sold online.

As part of the partnership project, Hyundai Motor CIS plan to create the Hyundai Mobility Lab. The goal of the lab will be to create and commercialize IT solutions and new client services. “A partnership agreement with Hyundai Motor CIS is an important stage in development of international relations for Skolkovo,” Viktor Vekselberg said. “Today we confirm our readiness and our interest in productive cooperation with global automobile industry giants. I am confident that joint work of the Skolkovo Foundation and the Hyundai Mobility Lab will help create unique conditions for the further development of advanced digital solutions.”

The start of the Hyundai Mobility program has been planned for the second half of 2019. “We look forward to further cooperation in developing new IT solutions in the field of mobility so that we are able to  make our customers’ lives more convenient and comfortable,” the president of the regional headquarters of Hyundai Motor Russia & CIS Company said.

In accordance with another memorandum signed by Konstantin Parshin, Vice President and Executive Director of the Skolkovo Foundation’s IT cluster, and Richard Van Wageningen, Senior Vice President, Orange Business Services, IMEAR, the innovation center will now incorporate the company’s corporate accelerator. The main goal of the new establishment will be the joint development of IT solutions with technological start-ups. The accelerator will also work on introducing the solutions into the practices of Orange customers, including leading Russian and international companies.

According to Mr. Parshin, the ecosystem for support and development of innovations in Orange is similar to that of Skolkovo. “Together with its own venture capital fund, a wide network of partners and large corporate clients around the world, Orange is a very interesting strategic partner for Russian start-ups. I am hopeful that cooperation between Orange and Skolkovo will help significantly expand the range of opportunities for bringing Russian technology onto the world market,” The head of the Russian IT cluster said.

Richard van Wageningen, in turn, called the Skolkovo Foundation “Russia's largest technology hub with a large and expert community.” “We are pleased to begin our cooperation that will benefit Russian technology and the Skolkovo ecosystem. We see considerable innovative potential in Russia. We have two of our own competence centers here, and use their products to implement digitization projects in other regions of our company’s presence,” Richard van Wageningen said.
